History
Promised Land Companies, Inc. was started by an evangelical Christian who
has a passion for the supremacy of God in all things through Jesus Christ and
who works in the land development and construction field.
Attending churches that were going through building programs over the years
gave him the opportunity to seek God in how he might participate in giving more
then he already did in his tithes and offerings in order to help in these
building efforts. The Lord revealed that if the efforts of this professional
could be used in securing the land, buying the products/materials, and finally
building the projects otherwise built by standard and typical
development/construction companies, he could produce hundreds or thousands of
times the dollar amount of additional funds to use as an offering versus what
he could sacrifice out of his own savings and financial assets.
Out of this circumstance through the years has grown this vision of finding
a way to keep the money that is in an organization, such as a church, and not
pay for the traditional mark-ups, contingencies, and profit lines that
‘for-profit’ companies have to carry in their schedule of values to insure that
they succeed and become very profitable. Instead, build the project at cost and
take this same money that would have been paid out to the traditional system of
land development and construction with profits, and use that money to fund
projects that promote the supremacy of God through Jesus Christ to feed the
hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, help the widowed, and fund missionary
efforts in our local community and around the world.
The savings could also be used to help develop and build low-income housing,
assisted living facilities, repair homes of the elderly, send disaster relief
to communities or countries in need. Cost savings would be afforded to charter
schools, private schools, scientific or educational facilities, and medical
facilities that are non-profit in their business organization. Urban
initiatives would also be promoted and funded.
It was also recognized that for the mission of Promised Land to be
fulfilled, some upfront consulting might need to be completed with our clients,
coaching and mentoring them through organizational and personal issues
regarding unity around Christ and His purposes, especially when contemplating
building programs. It is also believed that our clients might benefit from help
in some foundational business skills, helping their organizations to be more
effective.
Purpose
“Glorify God Through Jesus Christ in
Service to His Kingdom”
From “construction projects” to the “hearts” of our
clients, all belong to the Lord!
Deuteronomy
31:8 "The
LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail
you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
1 Peter 4:11 “Whoever speaks, is to do so as one
who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is
serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be
glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever
and ever. Amen.”
John 14:21 "He who has My commandments
and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My
Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him."
John 15:8 "My Father is glorified by
this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.”
Hebrews

fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful.”
Vision

Promised Land Companies and our clients entering by
faith, the “place” revealed to us by God.
Principles/Values
While not
exhaustive, the following principles/values are meant to produce the kind of
people and organizations that “Enter by Faith and Rest in Christ;” their own
“Promised Lands.”
-
God Himself is the ultimate
goal of all our prayers and activities.
-
The Glory of Christ must be
seen and loved in all things.
-
God is honored by believing His
promises and obeying Him.
-
The righteousness of Christ is
the ground of our acceptance with God and the hope of His people.
-
Glorifying God by resting in
Christ is accomplished in part by trusting that He knows and will do what
is best for His people.
-
Human beings and their cultures
exist to glorify God. All of what is seen in culture must be viewed from
God's perspective and claimed as His.
-
The Christian World-view as
defined in the bible is the foundation of all reality whether acknowledged
or not.
-
Effective stewardship of God's
resources is mandatory.
-
Through our character and
competencies we will foster trust and reflect the glory of God.
